I think this is one of the most important ones and it can really trip you if you are not prepared! Wait for it…..WEEKENDS!

Yes, I have said weekends. How many of us do not give in to temptation on a weekend. Everyone is having fun, going out fro drinks or having a barbecue and very soon you feel left out and sorry for yourself. That is a sure way to throw caution to the wind and eat what you feel like.

If you have a serious problem and if you are saying "I cannot lose weight!" look at weekends. Very often that is the stumbling block you're tripping over. Never go into a weekend unprepared. Have a plan that includes a few "legal" treats.

We all know that visiting friends over a weekend can really be a problem. They are bound to prepare something and them you feel bad not to eat. Prevent this from happening by informing them before hand that you are on a diet and that you will be bringing your own food. That is the only sure way to make sure you do not cheat.

Keep in mind, this is not forever. As soon as you have lost all the weight you need to lose you can eat normal again as long as you keep healthy eating principles in mind and exercise proper portion control.

So, if you are saying "I cannot lose weight" maybe you are tripping over stumbling block #, weekends. Have a plan, be prepared and it will not happen.

How To Identify Fad Diet Plans #2 - You Are Not Allowed To Do Any Exercise

Today I would like to move on to the second way to identify fad diet plans. With so many diet out
there, you really need to be able to identify fad diet plans to prevent you from trying them as they can really be very dangerous.

The first way to identify fad diets plans that we looked at was that you are only allowed to eat very few calories every day. This then want our "How To Identify Fad Diet Plans #1"

How To Identify Fad Diet Plans #2 - Your Are Not Allowed To Do Any Exercise:

This is another very important way to identify fad diet plans. You can also see how it cannot possibly be a good thing. One of the corner stones of healthy weight loss is moderate exercise.

The reason why you are not allowed to do any exercise while you are on one of these fad diet plans is because you eat too few calories to be able to do exercises with safety. You are eating hardly enough to
keep vital body organs going, let alone do any exercise.

Keep in mind that muscles use more energy than fat, even when you are sleeping, you can understand that not being able to exercise is not good for you. If you combine this with the very few calories you are allowed to eat you are heading for disaster!

Two things are going to happen. Because you are eating so little, you body thinks there is a famine and starts to slow down your metabolism to conserve energy for vital body functions. This means that you will find it more and more difficult to lose weight.

The next thing that is going to happen is that you will be losing muscle instead of fat and that is not only going to make you weak, it is also going to slow down your metabolism even more because, as I've said, muscle uses more energy than fat.

You can then imagine that because you cannot do any exercise as well, you are going to lose even more muscle, slowing down your metabolism even more! Not the way to go if you are looking for permanent weight loss.

With the muscle you lose, as well as some water that you will lose, you may lose a few pounds, but you will lose very little fat. As soon as you re-hydrate again most of the weight will simply come right back.

In the end you will sit with problems because of the muscle you lost and you will probably gain even more weight than you lost because your metabolism has slowed down. Once again, not the way to go for permanent weight loss!

So, make very sure you steer away from all fad diet plans and go for a healthy weight loss plan. It is true that if you are looking at how to lose weight calories have to be reduced, but not too many. I Cannot Lose Weight - Stumbling Blocks On The Road To Weight Loss - Stumbling Block #2 - Skipping Meals

If you are saying I cannot lose weight, it is very possible that you are stumbling
over one of the
stumbling blocks on the road to weight loss. With good advice and the right diet you will never have to say I cannot lose weight again.

For more info on a healthy diet you can go to my Hub: How To Lose Weight Quickly

I have already discussed the stumbling block #1 which is unrealistic expectations. Today the stumbling block #2 is skipping meals.

Very often when people are on a diet they think they will lose weight faster if they start skipping meals. Well, nothing can be further from the truth. Skipping meals is one of the surest ways to fail with your weight loss efforts.

There are three reasons why skipping meals are one of the most important stumbling blocks on the road to weight loss. When you start skipping meals, chances are that you will get very hungry and be tempted to eat something that will not do your diet any good. Skipping meals often leads to a lack of self discipline and then you go completely overboard ruining whatever success you have had.

2. By skipping meals you reinforce the problem of I cannot lose weight, because you will not be getting all the nutrition your body needs. To stay healthy your body needs certain kinds of food in certain proportions and if you skip a meal you will not get it. Do not listen to any How To Lose Weight Tips that tell you to skip meals! For successful weight loss you have to eat a Healthy diet.

3. If you start skipping meals, and you do not fall into the two traps mentioned above, the possibility is very good that you will not eat enough. We all know that in the quest of How To Lose Weight, Calories have to be reduced, but if you eat too little it can have a very negative effect on you. Your body sees a famine coming on, slows down your metabolism to preserve energy for vital organs and weight loss becomes more and more difficult.

So, do not fall into this trap and trip over the second stumbling block on the road to weight loss. It is sure to have you saying: "I Cannot Lose Weight!"

How To Identify Fad Diet Plans #1 - You Are Allowed To Eat Very Few Calories A Day

If you are thinking about weight loss, you know you will have to go onto a diet and do moderate exercise. The problem now is choosing a diet that will work. Most important, of course, is to be able to
identify Fad Diet Plans.

As fad diet plans can lead to many problems taking the time to make sure you do not fall for any of the fad diet plans is a good idea. To be able to do this you must be able to identify fad diet plans and steer clear from any of them.

Once you know all the characteristics of fad diet plans you will be able to choose a healthy diet that suits you. In this way you will have a far better chance of having long term success with your weight loss efforts.

How To Identify Fad Diet Plans #1:

We all know that if we are looking at How To Lose Weight Calories have to be reduced. That we cannot dispute, but in fad diet plans this is taken too far.

This is the very first dead giveaway of fad diet plans. You are only allowed to eat very little. The amount of calories you are allowed to eat on fad diet plans are way too little for your health's sake. So, if you see a diet where you are only allowed to eat very little you can be very sure it is a fad diet plan.

Eating so little will now have any good effects in the long run and you will also not be able to keep it up as you will simply be too hungry, in fact you will just about be starving.

So, do not even look at a diet where you are allowed very few calories a day. It is not safe to reduce your calorie intake per day with more than 500 calories than your body needs to maintain your weight.

To know how many you are supposed to eat to maintain your present weight you do the following math:

If you lead a mostly sedentary life you need 13 x your weight in calories to maintain your weight. So, from this you subtract the 500 calories and you know how many you need to eat each day.

If you are moderately active you take 16 x your weight and for very active you take 19 times your weight. From this you have to, once again, subtract 500.

There are easier ways than this to reduce the calories in a healthy way. Have a look at How To Lose Weight Calories for a few good ideas.

So, do not make the mistake of falling for Fad Diet Plans.

What are Aerobics?

Aerobics, which literally means “with oxygen,” are exercise that can be done to lose weight and regain health. There are main types of aerobic exercises, and if you do these exercises daily, you will find that you really will be more healthy. Aerobics are generally done at moderate levels of intensity for a longer time and can target any part of your body you wish to slim. There are many advantages of aerobics, which is why this form of exercise is both important and popular among health-conscious people.

Exercise can be broken down into two categories: aerobic and anaerobic. These differ in the ways in which your muscles contract during the exercise and how energy is generated within the muscles. Examples of anaerobic exercises include weight training or strength training, and with aerobic exercises, even the most well-built bodybuilder will not be able to run, swim, etc for long periods of time.

During aerobic exercise, your body breaks down glycogen to use for energy. If there is not enough glycogen in the body, you start using fat reserves instead, which is why you lose weight. Oxygen plays a key role in this process. With aerobic exercise, you don’t use bursts of energy. Rather, you spread out moderate levels of energy over a long period of time to trigger the use of fat in energy production. In general, things like running long distances, aerobics dances, and swimming for long periods of time are considered aerobics exercises, while anything with short bursts of motion, like sprinting, are not.

Benefits of aerobics exercises are great, which is why most doctors recommend them to patients, even if you enjoy a normal weight. Some of these benefits include strengthening the repertory muscles, enlarging the heart to pump more efficiently, increasing the flow of blood (and oxygen) in the body, and increasing endurance. Aerobics decrease the risk of death due to cardiovascular problems and of osteoporosis in both men and women.

Want to learn how aerobics can change your life? There are a number of great exercise programs you can do, which include both solo activities and classes with groups. To learn more (and always before starting a new exercising program, talk to your doctor or other health care professional to learn what types of aerobic exercises will work best for your body. Aerobics are the key to living a healthier and physically productive life, so don’t wait another day before starting a new healthy program that includes aerobics.

Why is Exercise Important?

No one wants to be unhealthy. Being unhealthy can lead to a wide variety of diseases attacking our bodies. Getting old before your time is the fate of many people who suffer from an unhealthy lifestyle. To regain our health, we need to eat right and exercise our bodies.
Exercise improves heart and lung function among other things. Ever notice those people, and maybe this is you also, who are huffing and puffing after walking a flight of stairs? You would think they had just run five miles the way they are breathing. That is a sure sign that their body is not getting enough oxygen and their muscles that are out of shape.
The body learns to use oxygen more efficiently when we participate in a regular exercise program. By program I mean consistent exercise. It could be walking around the neighborhood, jogging at the school track or working out at the local gym. As long as you do it more than once a month, your body will begin to use less oxygen to accomplish that exercise. When that happens, it is time to increase the time and intensity of the workout.
It is necessary for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. The heart can do this more efficiently when the body is in shape. Tissues stay oxygenated and hydrated to the point that your skin will glow and your resting heart rate and pulse will be lowered as well.
People have all heard that exercise releases “feel good” hormones and it’s true. Your outlook on situations will change when you have had a good run or walk to clear your head. Just the fact that you have completed the workout will make you feel better about yourself. If you want to keep those good vibrations, you have to continue to exercise.
Obesity is an epidemic among adults and kids in America. Carrying extra weight leads to health problems that can include Type II Diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart disease, and heart attacks. All of these are life-threatening conditions that should be prevented when possible. The buildup of plaque in the arteries of the body can cause a heart attack or stroke to occur. At age thirty-five or forty, you don’t want to be worried about a heart attack. If you are morbidly obese, things like a heart attack well before old age can become reality. Taking preventative measures such as exercising, will help to lessen your risk of facing serious health conditions like those mentioned above.
Exercise is a way to burn off extra calories and lose weight. Combined with healthy eating, exercise helps the body return to it’s normal functioning state. This is important as we age. Our bones get weaker and more brittle. Our muscles begin to waste away to the tune of a pound a year after age forty. Exercise strengthens the bones and builds up strong lean muscle therefore prolonging the aging process.
This is the only body we’ll get. Treat it to the best. Exercise three or more times a week for improved health and a longer, happier life.
