Diet For Low Fat Eating– Is It Wise?

Diet For Low Fat Eating– Is It Wise?

Looking for a diet for low fat eating? Why? Has someone convinced you that a diet that is low in fat is the way to lose weight or to battle the tummy bulge? Well the research is still out on exactly what low fat diets will do to our health long-term.

If you want to lose weight or tone up a healthy balanced diet and a lifestyle that includes adequate exercise (not excessive) will be the long-term solution. Find a way of eating that works for you and your body. Depending on your body type, what your personal interests are and how your body metabolizes what you eat.

A diet for low fat eating includes, taking out animal fats, reading labels and purchasing products that have little or no unhealthy fats/oils. If you don’t know what an ingredient is then most likely you don’t need it in your diet. Choose very little dairy, low fat varieties of cheese, yogurt (even making it yourself ;) try almond milk or organic soy milk. These are a few simple rules to get rid of excessive fats.

As we are not sure about the long term effect on our bodies, a diet for low fat eating must not be too strict. We all need some fat in our diet for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins as well as healthy joints. A diet for low fat eating should be followed with caution. A well balanced weight loss diet with moderate exercise is a far better option.

Low Carb Diet List

Low Carb Diet List

Why are you enquiring about a low carb diet list? Most probably you are trying to lose some weight.

Considering a low fat or low carb diet in order to lose some weight? Think again. The body needs a balanced diet, a balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins are required to maintain a healthy well body. Even when you are trying to lose weight, you should still eat a healthy well balanced diet. Just sticking to a Low Carb Diet list is not a good idea!

If you cut all the fats out of your diet this can upset the balance in your endocrine, i.e. hormonal system. If the body consumes insufficient carbohydrates, fuel, for our short term needs and there is a high demand for energy, say in a tough workout, the body will burn anaerobically (without oxygen). This will burn muscle tissue, not fat. Having adequate levels of fat, carbs and protein will encourage our metabolisms to work most efficiently. You need an efficient metabolism if you want to lose weight.

My friend Jeff counts calories and watches the amount of fat that he consumes. I think he might be better of to become aware of the types of fat that he consumes. Fresh oils, like olive oil and fish oils, like the natural oil found in salmon, are good fats while we could exclude all polyunsaturated vegetable oils and partially hydrogenated fats/oils and things made from them, from out diets.

Becoming aware of the glycemic index of the carbohydrates that we consume could help with maintaining a healthy diet. For more information and to find lists, go to http://www.50plus.org/Libraryitems/2_5_glycemicload.html

Foods with a glycemic index of 100 or above are quick to release sugar into the bloodstream. To slow down this release, combine any food that has a high glycemic index with another that has a low one. For example if you would like to have a rice cake, which has a very high glycemic index of 133, add a small handful of raw peanuts with a moderate glycemic index of 13, and the body will process this better, the sugar will be released at a slower rate.
