Diet For Low Fat Eating– Is It Wise?

Diet For Low Fat Eating– Is It Wise?

Looking for a diet for low fat eating? Why? Has someone convinced you that a diet that is low in fat is the way to lose weight or to battle the tummy bulge? Well the research is still out on exactly what low fat diets will do to our health long-term.

If you want to lose weight or tone up a healthy balanced diet and a lifestyle that includes adequate exercise (not excessive) will be the long-term solution. Find a way of eating that works for you and your body. Depending on your body type, what your personal interests are and how your body metabolizes what you eat.

A diet for low fat eating includes, taking out animal fats, reading labels and purchasing products that have little or no unhealthy fats/oils. If you don’t know what an ingredient is then most likely you don’t need it in your diet. Choose very little dairy, low fat varieties of cheese, yogurt (even making it yourself ;) try almond milk or organic soy milk. These are a few simple rules to get rid of excessive fats.

As we are not sure about the long term effect on our bodies, a diet for low fat eating must not be too strict. We all need some fat in our diet for the absorption of fat soluble vitamins as well as healthy joints. A diet for low fat eating should be followed with caution. A well balanced weight loss diet with moderate exercise is a far better option.

Desperate? Help to weight loss!

Desperate? Help to weight loss!

The most important help to weight loss is the mind. The mind convinces us from time to time that we need chocolate cake, NOW. Our mind is infinitely intelligent and generally knows what is good for our body. We know how we should eat to maintain a healthy body weight. What is it that interferes with our decision making process? Mind. So help to weight loss has to start with our mind.

We are human, and it is human to forget. From time to time, we forget and get off the wheel of "health and wellness," wandering into "eating whatever we want territory." We go in search of that elusive meal or fabulous snack that is going to make us feel full, satisfied, that is going to be the right thing. Even as I write this I am thinking how much I would enjoy a chocolate croissant and a grande decaf latte with soy, mmmm. I will have a glass of water first with lemon and cayenne pepper, clean out the bowls. Wait 30 minutes and have some fruit.

Then I will see if the craving is still there. It has not been a stellar week. It is the week before my cycle – does anyone have will power that week? I have been teaching my 13-year-old daughter about the benefits of very good chocolate and its ability to alter one’s mood in just such a hormonally imbalanced time of the month.

Help to weight loss comes from within. All the websites, books, coaches and doctors in the world cannot help us if we do not make a decision to change our life time habits and recognize how our bodies and our minds work. Make the decision to live a healthy life style once.

Make healthy choices at the grocery store, the restaurant and late at night when you are alone. Then when you do not, when you do eat the tub of Ben & Jerry’s, forgive yourself, notice how you feel before and after you eat it and go back to your healthy lifestyle. Exercise a little more the next day, drink more water, and remember to drink green tea after your meals. Find what works for you and stick to it. Remember help to weight loss can be what it may; you have the control in the end.

Low Carb Diet List

Low Carb Diet List

Why are you enquiring about a low carb diet list? Most probably you are trying to lose some weight.

Considering a low fat or low carb diet in order to lose some weight? Think again. The body needs a balanced diet, a balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins are required to maintain a healthy well body. Even when you are trying to lose weight, you should still eat a healthy well balanced diet. Just sticking to a Low Carb Diet list is not a good idea!

If you cut all the fats out of your diet this can upset the balance in your endocrine, i.e. hormonal system. If the body consumes insufficient carbohydrates, fuel, for our short term needs and there is a high demand for energy, say in a tough workout, the body will burn anaerobically (without oxygen). This will burn muscle tissue, not fat. Having adequate levels of fat, carbs and protein will encourage our metabolisms to work most efficiently. You need an efficient metabolism if you want to lose weight.

My friend Jeff counts calories and watches the amount of fat that he consumes. I think he might be better of to become aware of the types of fat that he consumes. Fresh oils, like olive oil and fish oils, like the natural oil found in salmon, are good fats while we could exclude all polyunsaturated vegetable oils and partially hydrogenated fats/oils and things made from them, from out diets.

Becoming aware of the glycemic index of the carbohydrates that we consume could help with maintaining a healthy diet. For more information and to find lists, go to http://www.50plus.org/Libraryitems/2_5_glycemicload.html

Foods with a glycemic index of 100 or above are quick to release sugar into the bloodstream. To slow down this release, combine any food that has a high glycemic index with another that has a low one. For example if you would like to have a rice cake, which has a very high glycemic index of 133, add a small handful of raw peanuts with a moderate glycemic index of 13, and the body will process this better, the sugar will be released at a slower rate.

Fruit Vegetable Diet - Can A Fruit Vegetable Diet Help Me Lose Weight?

Fruit Vegetable Diet - Can A Fruit Vegetable Diet Help Me Lose Weight?

Can a fruit vegetable diet help with losing weight? This is an easy question to answer, yes it can. We need at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day and any well balanced weight loss plan will include lots of veggies. Go slow on the fruit though, not more than 3 average portions a day and go slow on the bananas, not more than one a day. A well balanced diet has to include proteins as well and you cannot only eat fruit and vegetables.

A fruit vegetable diet has many other benefits as well. Many studies indicate that the increased consumption of in season fruits and vegetables can reduce the risk of various types of cancer. The cells in the body reproduce 100’s of millions of times during out lifetime absolutely perfectly. Our body cells are being acted upon by the environment, what we eat, drink, think and how we experience the world around us. When we consume a diet rich in a variety of fruits and vegetables we increase the bio-available nutrients in our bodies for cell reproduction.

One of the things that happen when there are not enough of those nutrients is that cells break down. Depending on when, where and in what body parts those cells break down; when enough of them break down; disease, often, some form of cancer develops. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables will not only help to maintain a healthy body weight and allow us to feel better and stronger it may help to prevent the development of some types of cancer as well.

Keep at it with your fruit vegetable diet for weight loss and better health.

Can Food Burn Fat

Can Food Burn Fat

This is a burning question, "Can Food Burn Fat?" First of all no foods are going to burn fat. Know that. But the consumption of certain foods can improve the efficiency of ones metabolism; the way that the body makes use of the foods that we eat; and how the body stores fats.

My picks for foods that “burn fat”, include green tea, grapefruit, lemon, bananas, apples, pears, broccoli, low-fat goats milk yogurt and if you are a meat eater, low-fat turkey, oatmeal, hot peppers, and including spices in your diet like ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, turmeric and cayenne pepper. All of these foods can help to keep the metabolic fires burning. So, if you are wondering, "Can Food Burn Fat" it may not be true in the strictest sense, but the right foods really can help in the process.

Green Tea – has been demonstrated in laboratory test to reduce fat and help to burn off fat in the body. It may be well worth your trouble to look into green tea, even for other health reasons.

Make sure that you are eating enough calories to burn off the fat you are consuming. You have to prevent your body from going into "starvation" mode. Our bodies will store fat if we are not getting enough calories. The mechanism in the brain, that will protect the body from starvation, stores fat for future use if we are not consuming enough calories for a healthy adult body on a regular basis.

For a healthy female body we should weigh about 105 pounds at 5 feet and about 5 lbs for every inch after that. Of course this is depending on your body type. Muscle weighs more than fat and looks different. So be aware of how you feel and what the body mass is compared to fat and muscle and consume enough calories to maintain your ideal weight.

Muscle also burns more calories than fat. It is therefore a good idea to build muscle and speed up your metabolism. Do not be put off by the possible weight gain in the beginning, that is because muscle weighs more than fat. As the process continues and you burn fat, your weight will drop and you will have a lovely sculpted body.

Can food burn fat? The right foods can help, that is for sure. Do you know all the other "How To Lose Fat Tips?" Subscribe to our e-course and get them all!
